'''Lupita Nyong'o''' (born 1 March 1983) is a Kenyan-Mexican actress who won an Academy Award for her first feature film role. Born in Mexico City to Kenyan parents and raised in Nairobi, she trained at the Yale School of Drama, and has since moved between prestige drama, blockbuster franchises, horror and voice work without settling into any one of them.

Her debut as Patsey in [[12 Years a Slave (2013)]] won Best Supporting Actress in 2014. She has played the pirate Maz Kanata across three films beginning with [[Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)]], and the Wakandan spy Nakia in [[Black Panther (2018)]] and [[Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)]].
