Tom Hanks is an American actor and filmmaker. He is known for his versatility and has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor for his roles in Forrest Gump (1994) and Philadelphia (1993). Hanks has also starred in many other critically acclaimed films, including Saving Private Ryan (1998), Cast Away (2000), and The Green Mile (1999).
